For the first time in a while, Cape Townians are truly spoilt for choice this weekend. Tonight features an all Pretoria lineup at
The Assembly with the familiar heroes whose lyricless melodies speak louder than any words could,
KidofDoom. They are joined by DJ Sassquatch (one of the organisers of
Sovereign Academy parties we were treated to one of earlier in the year),
Yesterday's Pupil and
Isochronous.

Saturday night features an interestingly diverse selection of music. Cape Town is simply bound to fancy at least one party. At The Assembly,
Fokofpolisiekar of the Northern Suburbs are playing for those who are that way inclined. For those more into House/electro/rave, the now long standing party of
Arcade is happening at, dare I say it, the Bang Bang Club. Then, my personal favourite,

But wait there is more. Tuesday, the day before the oh-so-welcome public holiday,
The Arrows are playing with King of Town,
Lapse and Magnum Hi-Fi at The Assembly.

Ashtray Electric are launching their album, Bonjour, while Thieve are playing their first Cape Town show. It's going to be exciting. DJs Sideshow and Lapse will be bringing up the rear (one would think) to make sure the party goes on long into the night. It's a much anticipated show. Let's hope the storm doesn't dampen people's spirits.
So, in just two days (depending on when you read this) Zebra & Giraffe will play at The Assembly with The Dirty Skirts and dj Lapse. It's is going to be awesome. Zebra & Giraffe are kinda new to Cape Town (not being from around here), only playing one or two shows in and around the Mother City before this Friday. Z&G did a tour recently with Harris Tweed that brought them as far south as Stellenbosch. Check out their insane video! It's called The Knife.
