A IS FOR AWESOME #2

Last Year, the rain poured, the cars slid and the cold reached my bones. But I got there. Where? astore and we-are-awesome threw what they called, A is for Awesome, a party for Cape Town's scenesters. Even though the weather placed something of a dampener on proceedings, the place was packed out. Check out pics from last year's event - a is for awesome.

This year, things have escalated somewhat. ADIDAS ObyO are on board to ensure a wicked cool African beat fest.

The lineup includes:

- Gazelle (Live)

- Desmond and the Tutu's (DJ Set - Shane Durrant)

- Haasbroek

- We-Are-Awesome DJ's (Andrew and Sean)

- Radio Elite

Party of 2k9? I don't know, but I reckon it's going to be pretty epic by Cape Town's standards.

Desmond and Z&G do Chew

So, I have been doing a bit of work for Chew Magazine of late. Fun times. Kitsuné Maison

Kitsune Music is a French music label in Paris. Every now and again they put together a magical compilation consisting of remixes of the most wicked tracks around. I have heard Kitsune Maison's first five compilations and am very excited for their newly released Kitsune Maison Compilation 6!

P is for Posers

The partnership of A is for Awesome was launched on Friday at the Reception. Despite the turbulent, stormy weather, Cape Town music and fashion lovers were out in numbers to support this new and very original endeavor.
Traditionally a clothing boutique, astore and party pics celebs we-are-awesome came together a while back with the idea of bringing Cape Town something new. And new it was. As opposed to the usual only indie kids party, there were strange cats from all over. Some old, some young, some jock, some queer, some indie and some specialties.
With Dario (astore) making music and Andrew and Sean (we-are-awesome) taking photos, it could mean only one thing, massive dance moves and bigger poses. And goodness, were there poses. A very good start to a potentially huge partnership. Sources tell me, they are already planning number 2 and 3. Look out for it Cape Town. It is not to be missed.

This Friday, the party pix boys from We Are Awesome team up with clothing specialists astore to put forward A is for Awesome. This party promises to be a monstrous night out.

One of the novel features at this party is the use of the pre party request playlist. If there is a song that would make your night, you can mail the organisers and let them know what it is. Pretty sick.

Be sure not to miss this, the launch of the astore and We Are Awesome party combo, this Friday (29 August) at Reception (129-131 Hatfield Street). Doors open at 9pm so be there early so we can get the party started.
