Life in Technicolor

Coldplay's latest music video. It's called Life in Technicolor, and they have added lyrics to the song. Very cool indeed.

Check out the Justice like Marshall stacks! Impressive puppet show if ever I saw one.

The winner of Lost?

A couple of months ago, the lads from Coldplay had a competition to see who could create the best music video for the acoustic version of their song, Lost?. This is what the winner put together and won himself a double pair of tickets to one of their huge shows in London with accommodation, flights and VIP backstage passes. Pretty sweet.

Rad. Good job.

What!! Again??

Coldplay are releasing again. This time just an EP. They say it'll be out between 21-25 November 2008 depending where you live. So it'll probably be here next year some time, just before they release something else. The EP cover looks similar to the album cover. Maybe it's meant to. :)

Viva La Vida was a very successful release with Lost! going to number one in the States. Some liked to slate it saying it sounded the same as X & Y and others that came before that, but thats nonsense (in my humble opinion). They have a style of music that is unique to any band, and so they will keep in that, but Viva is not a re-churned out version of Parachutes.

Glass of Water and Albert

So you may have noticed that blogging has slowed a little. This is due to the reality of exams. Sad but true. I will try post as often as possible though. But in truth, rather quality than quantity hey? I hate blogging about nothing or reading blogs about nothing. Bums me out.

So Coldplay seem to be the band I want to write about most these days. Maybe because they are continually churning out new stuff. They debuted a new song the other night in Antwerp, Belgium. Not just that, it features a guest performance from Albert Hammond Jr. (Strokes) on electric. Pretty awesome. The song is called Glass of Water. Coldplay put a sniput up on their site for us to view. I found this video of the full song shot with a hand held, so the quality isn't great, but the song is and you get to see more of Albert.

Ooh, bonus Viva video.

Have fun.

Official Lost! video by Coldplay

So I know I posted something about this video last month when it officially came out, but now it's available on Youtube and I want it on my blog. If you haven't seen it, it's pretty cool. The video is a live performance at one of those massive indoor venues in America. The Americans love this song. It was even the number one song in America for a while. True story. It's called Lost! and it's by Coldplay (of course).

Lost! - Coldplay

Just the other day (Heritage day), there was a concert broadcast on Mnet. Coldplay. It was the free show outside the BBC where there were only about 800 people inside the venue. Pretty awesome. But then again, most things with Coldplay involved are awesome.

Anyway, so today they uploaded to their site the latest music video from their album, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. It's called Lost! and is the latest single from the album. Check out the video. Also, they have a new song that is not on the album for free download. Click here to download. Also, check out the video below of Lost! as performed outside the BBC.

Athlete - Hurricane

Athlete, an English indie rock act out of London released there 3rd Album in September last year, Beyond The Neighbourhood, which entered the UK charts at #5, not nearly as successful as the album, Tourist, which preceded it. Tourist set the standard as far as music and originality was concerned. When Beyond the Neighbourhood came out, some fans were disappointed. Some critics complained that the new music sounds like Coldplay (suddenly Coldplay's sound is exclusive?). Besides, Coldplay's new album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, has a refreshingly new sound.

Anyway, the album is very typically Athlete, not too much new, a few new electronic sounds, but very safely put together. I am happy with my purchase.

Have a look at the their single below, Hurricane, and make your own mind up. When you are done with that, they have just released their latest EP, definitely worth having a look at. It's called Outsiders.
